Heartbeat Mittens
The Heartbeat Mittens are bold and beautiful. They remind me of a fun 90’s outfit that might have put your father on edge, loud music on your disc-man, and dance parties with friends. The kind of thing that makes you feel alive, hence the name. They have a simple vertical construction that starts at the thumb, with intarsia color changes in three colors throughout the hand. The stitch creates a soft ribbing that hugs your hands and wrists and makes them extra cozy.

Materials
YARN: Fingering weight yarn (size 1).
Approximately 100 m (110 yards) of CA, 40 m (40 yards) of CB, and 55 m (60 yards) of CC.
Sample used The Farmer’s Daughter’s Fibers Foxy Lady in colorways Heartbreak Hotel (speckled aqua - CA) and Gary Cooper (dark green - CC), and Expression Fiber Arts CashSilk Sock in colorway Moon (white - CB).
HOOKS: 3.5 mm or size needed to meet gauge.
NOTIONS: tapestry needle, scissors, 1 strand of scrap yarn to be used as a marker.

These are the finished measurements:
Hand circumference: 15 (16.5) cm / 6 (6.5) in -the ribbing is very stretchy and they should have about 3 cm of negative ease.
Length (not counting cuff): 12 (14) cm / 4 3/4 (5.5) in
