Sizes + Measurements
This pattern comes in 9 different sizes. The instructions for each size are colour coded and in the order shown here: 6-12 months (12-18 months, 2, 4, 6) (8, 10, 12, 14) yrs.
These are the approximate measurements of the finished item:
Chest1: 45.5 (51.5, 57, 63, 68.5) (74.5, 80, 85.5, 91.5) cm / 18 (20¼, 22½, 24¾, 27) (29¼, 31½, 33¾, 36) in
Materials
YARN: Fingering weight yarn (size 1, 4 ply, sock yarn)
Approx 480 (620, 730, 890, 1090) (1315, 1515, 1640, 1775) m / 525 (620, 730, 890, 1090) (1315, 1515, 1640, 1775) yds in total divided into as many colours as desired.
Sample used lots of scrap pieces of yarn from previous projects.
HOOK: 4 mm or size needed to meet gauge.
NOTIONS: tapestry needle, scissors and at least 5 stitch markers (or 5 loose strands of yarn).
Alternative Yarns
Any fingering weight yarn will work, but here are some I love and recommend (some of which are included in the sample):
Cascade Heritage, Solids (75% Merino Wool, 25% Nylon)
Knit Picks, Twill (100% Fine Superwash Merino Wool)
Sirdar, Country Classic 4 Ply (50% Merino Wool 50% Acrylic)
Gauge
21 sts x 24 rows of chart (single row mosaic crochet in rounds) = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in.
